1.12a NO-CD converted to 1.10
Please make a backup of your original game.exe. Maybe later you want/need to switch to the orginal, so a backup is handy. This game.exe is a modified 1.12a game.exe with just small changes which don't affect itself, just the patch version you can use this exe with. Because it is the same as patch 1.12a the same instructions apply to the modified version. It is intended to use for a complete install if you don't want to insert any D2 CD into your drive anymore (except for reinstalling...). Additionally you have to copy d2music.mpq and the d2xmusic.mpq from the discs to your Diablo II folder. If you haven't got a complete install please copy all missing mpq-files (except of setup.mpq) from D2 CDs (note the plural) into your D2 folder, else you'd still need to provide the expansion disc for playing. If something went wrong here are the known errors: 1. a missing CD popup where you have the choices cancel retry continue: if this appears please click some times on "continue" and D2 will run without CD! I got this error by installing from a mounted image and simply unmounting it. After disabling the virtual drive completely the error wnet away and all was fine. Otherwise have to click 3-4 times on continue everytime you start. *note from Corni* I haven't seen this error (yet), it was just seen in tests by Seltsamuel using his 1.11b version. 2. a missing CD popup with only 1 OK button: if this appears there are files missing in your D2 folder, please make sure all .mpq are there, otherwise reinstall and this time do a COMPLETE INSTALL and copy additionally the d2music.mpq and d2xmusic.mpq to your Diablo II folder, or simply put in your CD and be happy that your D2 starts up faster. 3. A C00000005 error on game startup: I've currently no idea about this one, it is somehow related to loaders or loader-scripts (like the ones by Myhrginoc). I'm not sure if I'll ever solve this error, sorry. IMPORTANT To use this game.exe on a realm the hoster has to allow the checksum otherwise you will get a unable to identify client version (according to seltsamuel).
